ASUS’ ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 Gaming Laptop is Here – And it is Simply Awesome!
Following its repeated attempts to develop a laptop with two screens, ASUS might have found the winning formula with the release of its Zephyrus Duo 15 laptop for gamers. The computer, which features the latest Intel Core i9-10980HK processor, and GeForce RTX 2080 Super GPU is the latest flagship gaming laptop from the stables of renowned manufacturers, ASUS.
The Zephyrus Duo 15 has a main 15.6-inch display screen with users having the choice to go for either a full HD 300Hz display or a 4K 60Hz ultra display. The latter provides complete support for the entire Adobe RGB color spectrum and will most definitely appeal to artists and creatives. Both screen types have the Pantone certification for color accuracy.
The 4K model packs quite a punch with a Core i9-10980HK processor, 32GB of RAM, 2TB of storage (RAID), and an RTX 2080 Super. Befittingly, it is the most expensive variant of the Duo 15 laptop.
The 1080p, 300Hz screen, on the other hand, is available in two types. The first has a Core i9-10980HK processor, RTX 2080 Super with 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of PCIe storage. The other variant houses a Core i7-10875H processor, RTX 2070 Super, 32GB of RAM, and 2TB of RAID storage.
Innovative second screen
Sitting just below the primary display screen, and perhaps, one of the most eye-catching features of the Zephyrus 15 is a secondary 14.09-inch 4K ultra ScreenPad Plus touch screen. This screen rests in-between the main display screen and the keyboard. The ScreenPad Plus screen tilts at an angle 13 degrees towards the user when fully open, thereby making it easier to see its contents, and addresses one of the more prominent problems of older ASUS dual-screen laptop models. And not only does the tilted design improve visibility, but it also exposes a large inlet vent for the laptop’s cooling system.
Other qualities of the feature-packed Zephyrus Duo 15 include the use of liquid metal as the thermal interface material, which, according to ASUS, helps reduce CPU temperature by as much as 8°C.
Furthermore, the Duo 15 charges via a USB type C port with support for Thunderbolt 3, and possesses a juicy 90Wh battery which offers hours of gameplay on end.
In its reveal, ASUS stated that plans are in place to optimize features such as in-game chats, stats tracking, and touch control guides for the secondary screen. ASUS also partnered with Adobe to develop unique content creation tools for the Duo 15.
